Parkwood Eggs Vigil

Animal Liberation ACT held a candle light vigil outside the entrance to the Parkwood battery egg facility, Canberra's only intensive animal factory, in Macgregor on Monday 2 April 2012 to highlight the cruelty involved in the egg industry.

 

 

Pace Farms, which owns Parkwood Eggs, keeps more than 100,000 hens in cages in sheds at the factory for up to 18 months before removing them and loading them on trucks where they are driven over 13 hours to the slaughterhouse in Geelong.
