After last year's highly successful bakesale Animal Liberation ACT returned to Gorman House Markets on 20 and 27 April 2013 to raise funds for the 2013 Living Green Festival.  Both days sold out of the delicious range of vegan baking donated on the day.

Local residents gathered to protest against the rodeo in Queanbeyan on Saturday 9 March 2013.

Rodeo animals suffer many kinds of injuries, and sometimes die during these events. Others are so badly injured they have to be killed afterwards.

Local residents and Animal Liberation ACT supporters protested against the use of animals by Stardust Circus when it kicked off its 2013 Queanbeyan season on Valentine's Day (14 February).

The protestors' message was simple: if Stardust really wanted to show they loved their animals, they wouldn’t keep them in cages and they wouldn’t force them to do unnatural acts in completely artificial surroundings!

Animal Liberation ACT hosted Canberra's only screening of this important and fascinating film at Dendy Cinemas on 7 February 2013. 

Audience members participated in an illuminating Q & A session after the screening with the Canadian director of the film, Karol Orzechowski.

City workers - and anyone else who would otherwise have been subjected to that race - congregated in Glebe Park for a free vegan barbeque as part of Animal Liberation ACT's inaugural 'Escape the Race' event, held between 1-4pm on Tuesday 6 November 2012.

The 2012 Living Green Festival, which Animal Liberation ACT was proud to sponsor, was a great success! Almost 70 market and community stalls, fantastic live entertainment, mouth-watering vegan food and drink, inspiring speakers and workshops filling two tents for the whole day, super awesome volunteers wherever anyone needed them, and of course - a fabulous amount of people who just came along for a great time! It was great to see so many of you call by the Animal Lib stall!

A rally was held in Garema Place on Saturday 11 August 2012 to show public support for the shutdown of Wally's Piggery, an intensive piggery 20 minutes from Canberra.

On Wednesday 25 July Jess H and Jess F set up an Animal Lib ACT education stall at the Australian National Uni for 2012 Bush Week.

It was great talking to students returning for semester 2 about animals issues in the ACT!
